Dushanbe July 5, 2024— In the afternoon，President Xi Jinping and his Tajikistan Counterpart Emomali Rahmon attended the Completion Ceremony of the China aided Tajikistan Parliament Building built by Yanjian Group. This Ceremony was hold in the circular conference hall of this Building and Witnesses includes Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China(CPC）Central Committee and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee,Wang Yi,a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committe and foreign minister,Rustam,the Speaker of the Upper House of Tajikistan and other officials from both countries. 

President Rahmon warmly welcomed President Xi in front of the Parliament Building. Then both heads of state walked into the Building,visited the display board of the China aided Tajikistan Parliament Building and Tajikistan Government Building and unveiled the nameplates of both projects.

Amid the warm applause,President Xi delivered a speech.

Xi extended his congratulations on the completion of the two buildings and showed his sincere gratitudeto the constructors from two countries that made concerted efforts to complete the construction as schedule.

Xi noted that linked by mountains and rivers,Tajikistan and China are good neighbors. In recent years, Both countries strengthened development strategic alignment,promoted all-round cooperation and implemented a series of strategic major projects in the frame of co-building the Belt and Road Initiatives.

All these measures has facilitated Tajikistan development revitalization and the well-beings brought by friendly cooperation of both states has benefited people from all walks of life.

The two newly completed buildings have become new landmarks symbolizing the friendly cooperation between China and Tajikistan and will significantly improve the office conditions of Tajikistan Parliament and Government.

China is ready to work with Tajikistan to continue to uphold the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, carry out more cooperation projects in Tajikistan and make greater contribution to the economic and social development of Tajikistan, Xi said.

Rahmon noted 5 years ago President Xi and I unveiled the models of the two buildings on his state visit to Tajikistan. Today I feel very pleased to attend the completion ceremony of the two buildings with President Xi.

The buildings are the most precious gift given to the Tajik people by President Xi on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his first state visit to Tajikistan, and another testimony to the profound friendship between the two countries. The buildings combines the Tajik architectural style and Chinese construction technologies.They will surely be recorded in the annals of Tajikistan-China relations and be celebrated by the Tajik people for generations to come,I heartfelt thanks for China’s selfless helps and all Chinese constructors hard works, he said.

Rustam expressed his gratitude to Chinese government and people for their long-term supports to Tajikistan all undertakings. The new buildings will not only improve office conditions,but also make Dushanbe more glamorous and vital and they will become new symbols of an unbreakable friendship between China and Tajikistan. Tajikistan will firmly advance the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and have full confidence in the bright future of bilateral relations.

The China-aided Tajikistan Parliament Building commenced on August 25,2020 and was completed on June 25, 2024, with a total construction area of 43000㎡. The Building belonging to the first-class high-rise architecture is a 74.94 metre high five-floor one with its designed usage duration of 100 years and it’s reinforcement concrete frame structure with a seismic fortification intensity of 9 degree. The building marks the first time that China has adopted a mode featuring collaborative design in its foreign aid projects,organically integrates Tajik architectural style and Chinese construction technology and represents the collaborative efforts between the two countries along the Belt and Road. The features from dome to metal hallow-carvings of the Parliament Building display rich Tajik style,which was highly affirmed and complimented by locals.

The personnel of the technical team with the support of Group Company,strove for four years to build the high-quality exquisite project for China and Tajikistan satisfying both heads and peoples of state by innovation, refine management and lean construction.
